McCLELLAND BARCLAY sterling pear set of necklace, bracelet and earrings

Price: $698.00
Description McCLELLAND BARCLAY sterling pear set of necklace, bracelet and earrings, 15-1/2" by 3/4" necklace, 6-3/4" by 3/4" bracelet and 7/8" earrings.  The necklace weighs 1.2 ounces, the bracelet 0.9 ounces, and the earrings 0.2 ounces.    McClelland Barclay was both an illustrator and a designer.  Born in 1891, he painted and made sculptural utilitarian pieces and decorative objects for the home, as well as wonderful jewelry.  His design sense was magnificent, and his rhinestone jewelry is well known and collected.  But while they are not his best known work, I prefer his Arts and Crafts style sterling jewelry pieces to his rhinestone jewelry.  Sadly, he died in World War II.

Most of his sterling jewelry was made in 1942 and 1943.  View   View   View   View   View   View   View   View
