Eisenberg
Jewelry

EISENBERG

The Eisenberg company has made
jewelry for over eight decades, from the 1930’s to the present.
Eisenberg marks include "EISENBERG" in all capital block letters, 1945-1958;
"Eisenberg Originals" 1935-1945; "Eisenberg Sterling" 1943-1948; and
"Eisenberg Ice", 1970-present. Some early Eisenberg
pieces are unsigned, and there was also a

period in the late 1970s to
the 1990s when the company did
not mark all of their jewelry.

Eisenberg did not design their own
jewelry in-house. Starting in 1940 it was designed by Ruth Kamke, who
worked for the manufacturer Fallon and Kappel in New York. She also
designed for Panetta later for about 15 years. F&K had a mutually
exclusive arrangement. Eisenberg was made only by F&K, and F&K only
made Eisenberg. That all changed in the mid-1970s when F&K suddenly
closed. After that it is difficult to determine who designed what.

More information about Eisenberg Jewelry is in
Jewel Chat Magazine (click here), and

Eisenberg with glass pearls

EISENBERG unsigned
fur clip with glass pearls and clear rhinestones set
in gold tone metal, 3-1/2" by 2-5/8". There a light line of glue on a pearl on the back only,
nothing distracting. While I am reluctant to make attributions on unsigned jewelry without
some kind of documentation, I have had circa 1940 Eisenberg signed pieces made like this,
including the clip, pearls and the setting styles. An amazing piece and a
gorgeous one as well.

EISENBERG
dazzlingly clear rhinestone double clip that is 4" at the
widest by 1-1/2" at the most narrow. It is hinged and pivots at the center
smaller round stone so that it
can be worn with the wings in different positions. The lush stones are just
brilliant and the different sizes and shapes add to the beauty of this
unusual piece, circa 1940. While this is not signed, Eisenberg made this same butterfly as a
signed brooch, which we have also had in the past, hence our attribution.
