DescriptionVICTORIAN Whitby jet Lover's Knot brooch with hand carved snake or serpent designs on each side, 2" by 1-5/8". This was carved by hand with simple early tools. Other than the normal scratches and two very tiny chips on the back side, seen only under magnification and which are expected in a piece this age circa 1860, this is in good vintage condition and there are no flaws seen from the front.
