Description VICTORIAN brooch of a pheasant bird sitting with fruits and leaves, reverse painted and foiled on glass, 2" by 1-1/2".  Made in 1880-1890 or a bit earlier, it is set in a gold twist frame typical of that time.

The leaf you see on the top right is clear glass, with no color, and it is meant to be that way.  The color of clothes you pin this to would show through in an interesting way!   View  View
