VICTORIAN 9 carat yellow gold and agate oval pendant with insect perched on top
DescriptionVICTORIAN 9 carat yellow gold and agate oval pendant with insect or beetle perched on top, very rare, circa 1870, 2-1/2" total length by 1-1/3" wide. This perfectly reflects the Victorian passion for collecting things from nature, a very rare piece with wonderful coloring and so much fun to wear. The Victorians used everything from bugs to birds in their jewelry and hat ornaments, and often they had a meaning behind them. This is a beautiful piece of jewelry and it is in excellent condition.
All items in excellent vintage condition unless otherwise noted.
