   PURPLE faceted oval purple rhinestones necklace in antique style settingsThe clasp is marked "sterling", and this is 16-1/2" by 1/3". The rich purples in this necklace are dazzling to see, just marvelous and in excellent vintage condition. The finish looks like sterling with a faint wash of gold color on it. The prongs are an older Victorian style but the safety clasp is post 1920 and it is marked "925". I do wonder if the catch isn't newer than the necklace itself, replaced some time over the years.
