DENICOLA rare stained glass effect brooch, an exclusive Neiman Marcus brooch with poured glass transparent pink and green cells, 1962

Price: $898.00
Description DENICOLA rare stained glass effect brooch, an exclusive Neiman Marcus brooch with transparent poured glass pink and green cells in a gold plated setting.  Not only are the colors absolutely glowing, but the brooch is a nice size, too, at 2-3/4" by 2-5/16".  It was  made at Christmas of 1962 and a vintage advertisement states that it was a Neiman Marcus exclusive.  It is signed "DeNicola, pat pend" on the back along with the copyright mark.

The 1962 DeNicola advertisement for this wonderful brooch describes it as, "The Majesty of stained glass, our new collection of poured glass pins and earrings.  The glass is actually melted then poured into the delicate metal frames".  Sold for between four dollars and fifty cents and twenty-five dollars according to the ad back then, it is called "the NM exclusive collection by DeNicola".  The ad is HERE and what fun to have this jpg picture of it.

Founded in the 1950s by Jerry DeNicola, his early line called "The Real Look" was comprised of costume jewelry meant to look like fine jewelry.  Some of their well known pieces are the poured glass styles, the zodiac line, and the frogs.  DeNicola at it’s best is well designed and detailed, whimsical and unusual.  We have also seen a gold hang tag that said "DeNicola for Capri".  View  View  View  View
