Many of you know us from our Morning Glory Jewelry web site, but we also have a wonderful location in the Antique Connection Mall, which my husband and I have owned for almost 25 years. Located in Albuquerque New Mexico at 12815 Central Avenue NE, which is Old Route 66, we have about 60 great dealers who deal in all kinds of wonderful things. We are a really friendly mall with places to sit and rest, drinks in the fridge, clean restrooms, and knowledgeable dealers working here every day. Specializing in a wide variety of antiques and collectibles, you will find fresh merchandise almost every day. We have man-tiques, including vintage sports equipment, advertising signs, ephemera, taxidermy, decoys, Marilyn Monroe and Coca-Cola, just to name a few.
And along with the large Morning Glory selection of antique, vintage and collectible jewelry and accessories, we have Native American jewelry, 1930s-1950s colorful dishes, linens, kitchen ware, Shabby Chic decor, cast iron pans and Pyrex. We also feature vintage clothing, dolls, stuffed animals and books. And for the home, we have furniture, lighting and accessories. Its exciting to be here, with people sharing their finds and expertise, having lunch under the arbor, and chatting about their favorite things. And if you want to be a dealer here, just drop me an email.
You can follow us on FACEBOOK here and keep up with whats new. If you want information about joining us as a dealer, please click HERE. We have both spaces and cases. |
Named for their clear transparent Lucite bellies, "Jelly belly" jewelry can be both beautiful and whimsical. Most were made in the 1940s, although some continued to be fashioned into the early 1960s. Collectors usually agree that in order to qualify as a true "jelly belly", the belly portion must be made of Lucite, not glass, and must be clear and not colored. The most coveted pieces are the larger pieces with Lucite set in sterling vermeil (gold washed sterling) and the larger figurals. Lucite was used in the windshields of WWII airplanes, and the clarity of the belly allows the colors they are worn on the show through, making them look a bit different on every outfit. And talk about conversation starters!  If you would enjoy adding some wonderful JELLY BELLY pieces to your own collection you can purchase by clicking HERE.
