BOHEMIAN double shell
with two lady figurines, circa 1890, attributed to RStK, two charming graceful
maidens are the central figures with dolphins, scalloped shells, flora, and a
functional spill or flower vase, all resting upon a rocky landscape supporting
two large shells, hand-painted and finely rendered, 14" by 11-3/4" wide.

ES GERMANY lady portrait dresser box
with tiny aqua dots on a golden background which is called a "Tiffany
finish" and purple opalescent sides, a lovely combination, 4" by 2-1/2".
This has light wear upon very close examination (paint wear on top of
two ridges), and is marked "Prov. Saxe ES Germany" on the back,
circa 1900.

VICTORIAN Bohemian cranberry glass
pedestal with enameled portrait. This piece is 7" tall, 4-1/3" wide at the
top and 5" wide at the bottom. The top is like a shallow dish, and the bottom is
open, like a bell would be. I do not know what it was used for.
The portrait is beautifully hand painted on opaque white glass applied to the
cranberry, and it is in excellent condition. There is gold hand-painted leafy
design over the entire piece, but it is very worn on the main body, and only
slightly worn under the top. There are no chips or cracks. #A8259 |

ROYAL BAYREUTH lady with
candle stick handled pitcher, lovely rich colors and detail in her dress and
jewelry, 5-3/4". The light on her face is just perfect. One flea bite on the handle and a
small factory paint skip at the
rim so priced accordingly. This has the blue mark on the bottom.

FAUVETTE lovely Art Nouveau lady bust
marked on the plinth "Fauvette". Fauvette means "warbler"
in French, referring to a small song bird, and also to a singer.
This is made of cast metal with a bronze patina that is just beautiful, 6-1/4"
high and in really good condition, as you can see in the photos. This
graceful young woman, with her softly flowing hair and serene expression,
reflects the elegant style of the Art Nouveau era.
Shown here as a reference is a page from my
1902 Becken Catalogue illustrating just a few of the many decorative
figures that were popular around the turn of the twentieth century. It helps
place this lovely bust in the context of the period in which it was made.

ART
NOUVEAU bronze figure of Flora, the flower maiden,
standing in a flowing gown with gracefully draped folds. She is flanked by
blooming lilies, their stems and blossoms framing the figure in the
wonderfully organic style so characteristic of the Art Nouveau period.
Mounted on a polished green marble base, the sculpture has a quiet elegance
and fluid movement that make it a beautiful decorative work from this
beloved artistic era. It stands 8-3/4" high and was probably made about
1900, if not a little earlier. Excellent condition.
The design is similar to the work of
French sculptor Julien Causse, who lived from 1869-1914.
I had a
1902 Becken Catalogue, showing the busts and library statuary that was so popular at that time.
It is included here simply to provide historical context and is not part of
this offering.

LYS Art Nouveau lady bust, marked
"LYS" on the front of the base. She wears a wreath of
leaves and flowers in her flowing hair, a wonderfully natural motif that is
so characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. Although it has the rich
appearance of bronze, the bust is actually made of spelter with a warm
bronze finish. The name ‘Lys,’ the French word for lily, is especially
fitting for this graceful floral-themed bust It measures 5-1/2" high
and is in excellent condition.
The design is similar to the work of
French sculptor Julien Causse, who lived from 1869-1914.

VICTORIAN mini portrait of a
lady wearing her ermine stole. It was transferred onto a porcelain oval
and then highlighted by hand, 2" by 1-1/2". The number "80" is impressed
into the back. It is framed in a beaded silver frame with a swing-out
stand.

VICTORIAN charming little
boy portrait in an oval wood frame with painted gold liner. This is done by a
good artist and the details of this blue-eyed child are lovely. He is
wearing a great coat or cape in the picture. The painting is oil on
stiff paper and is mounted with a thin wooden backing. On the back is a
hand-written tag that says "DeWitt C. Smith". The painting is 8" by 10"
