DUJAY band members fur clips with colorful enameling and clear rhinestones, a really fine figural group. The man with trombone, no maker’s mark but it is patent #17926 for 1939, 2-1/8". The man with drum, patent 17925 for 1939, 2-1/8". The man with French horn, patent 117925 for 1939, 2-1/8". These band series fur clips are in excellent condition, as though they were never worn, making them doubly rare. According to Brunialti’s book "American Costume Jewelry: Volume I" on Page 162, the DuJay band series was designed by Jacques H Leff in 1939. There are 5 members of the original band: a drum major, a drummer, a trombone player, and French horn player and a bass drum player, so there are 2 more besides these. RHINESTONE PEOPLE "charm" bracelet with colorful rhinestones figures set in gold tone, 7" by 1-1/4". This figural piece has red and blue cabochons and rhinestones accents with red, brown, yellow and black enameling. The man in the center carries water buckets on his shoulders, the women on either side if him are sweeping, and the cats looking on. Bracelets similar to this were made by everyone from Cartier (in karat gold) to Kreisler and other costume jewelry makers, and their motifs include musical bands, wedding parties and stars. A similar bracelet can be seen in the book "Jewels of Fantasy" by Deanna Cera on page 167. And similar pieces can be seen in Christie Romero’s book "Warman’s Jewelry", 2nd Ed, page 159.
