RM CO
lavender and cream guilloche enamel dance compact with pink roses, golden
birds and green leaves over silver metal, probably not sterling. It is fitted inside with powder and rouge and puff
and mirror, ring size 9-3/4, compact 2-1/8" by 2". The puff is discolored
and has been used, and the foil is off part way. When dancing or at a party, the ring would go over the middle finger
so that the decorative compact could be displayed. Similar purses can be
seen in the
1923 A. G. Schwab & Sons Catalog where they call them "vanities" or "Dorines". It’s a lovely thing and
in very good vintage condition.
