FOSTER BROTHERS sterling and
guilloche enamel necessaire, tango compact or minaudiere with finger ring,
perfume, powder and lipstick, circa 1930. This amazing piece is done in
pastel blue enamel over an engine turned finish with a center design of an urn
filled with flowers on the front… pink roses, blue forget-me-nots, green leaves and
bows. Inside is a mirror along with a well used powder, rouge with
original puffs. Otherwise this is n excellent condition. Total length
8-1/4", compact is 2-1/8" wide.

Marked on an edge "F&B" for Theo. W. Foster & Bro. Co., this company began
circa 1898 and was a general jewelry maker at 100 Richmond St, Providence,
RI. They also made sterling toilet ware, cigarette cases, vanity items,
photo frames and jewelry. They are listed in the in the 1915 edition
of Keystone on page 30 and in 1934 Keystone on page 7, and identified in
Rainwater "American Jewelry Manufacturers" on page 94.

RM CO
lavender and cream guilloche enamel dance compact with pink roses, golden
birds and green leaves over silver metal, probably not sterling. It is fitted inside with powder and rouge and puff
and mirror, ring size 9-3/4, compact 2-1/8" by 2". The puff is discolored
and has been used, and the foil is off part way. When dancing or at a party, the ring would go over the middle finger
so that the decorative compact could be displayed. Similar purses can be
seen in the
1923 A. G. Schwab & Sons Catalog where they call them "vanities" or "Dorines". It’s a lovely thing and
in very good vintage condition.

WATROUS Deco sterling hallmarked
photograph case with hammered finish, engraved with initials "H.W.N." on
the front and the dates "Jan. 2, 1920 and Sept. 14. 1920" inside, as well as
the numbers 83 and 307. It has a loop on the side so it can be worn on a
chain, too. It is 2-1/2" by 2" and weighs about 1.55 ounces. There is one very small dimple on the back of the
case. Inside, the photo holder is two-sided and swings out to insert the photo.
The Watrous company was located in Wallingford, CT.

engraved on the front with the initials "W.S.S.". It is 4-1/8" by 3-1/8", weighs
approximately 2.77 ounces and has a few dimples on the back, mentioned for

J&G STERLING
1904 ARTS & CRAFTS match safe or vesta with a loop so
it can be worn as a pendant or on a chatelaine, it has a lovely hammered design with circle on the front for initials.
It is hallmarked for
Birmingham 1904 maker’s mark "J.G." for John Gilbert. It is
beautifully curved and is 1-1/2", and
weighs about 1.25 ounces..

tone compact with green and with enameled profiles on silver tone, 2-1/4".
It comes with it’s original box as well. This compact folds out to a powder,
rouge and mirror inside, but the mirror is entirely gray. There is a shallow
dimple on the bottom.

Clarice Jane compact with powder, rouge and mirror inside,
2-7/8" by 2-1/3". The black enameled compact has a white front with enameled
rose and leaves, just lovely. Inside is a compartment for both powder and
rouge, with the refill tag for the rouge still intact. This is in very good
vintage condition with only minor signs of wear on the inside.

The perfume is made in slightly matte gold tone and has a red enameled
tip on the torch, and it is 3-1/2" tall.

rhinestone pear powder compact, mint condition with original box, case and paper.
This elegant piece is 2-5/8" by 2" and 3/4" deep and looks wonderful in
it’s golden fitted box. Decorated in topaz and green rhinestones on shiny
gold tone, it could not be more lovely.

purse in gold tone metal with a handle and tassel. Inside is a
compartment for powder, two coin holders, a puff and a mirror. The case
itself is 3-5/8" by 2", the handle is a 9" loop, and the tassel is 1-1/2".
It looks like it was rarely used and comes in it’s own original box. On the
front is an open cartouche for initial and a ribbons and leaves design. The
box is worn and coming apart, but the purse is in excellent condition.

and white with dainty pink roses and silver scroll work. It is 2-1/16"
