BIRKS ELLIS Ryrie, Toronto, sterling Deco ring box that is monogrammed
on the top "HEF" and marked with the Birks emblem inside the lid, along with
the words "Birks sterling" on the bottom. This lovely box holds one ring and
it is 1-5/8" by 1-1/2" by 1-1/8" deep. The interior is lined with soft gold
colored velvet, which has slight discoloration. It would be perfect for
presenting and storing a special treasured ring. Birks was at one time
Canada’s premier jewelry store, similar to Tiffany’s in the USA.

and the box is lined with a soft tufted dusty pink lining. The lady shown is
wearing a headpiece and blue satin dress with a bow, I think she could
be Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France. It’s painted on a porcelain disk, and
the entire box 4-1/2" by 3-3/4". The box is 1-1/2" deep and has lovely
applied textured designs all the way around the sides and four little feet. I have seen similar boxes marked "France" but this one has no indication of
the country in which it was made. It could also be called a dresser box. The last two photos show
how lovely a portrait collection can be!

brown leather which is lined with a soft green silk, which shows some fraying, and
tufted with golden balls, 10" by 10" by 3-1/2" deep. Inside at the front

outside there’s some scuffing of the brown material, which I think is a thin
layer of leather. A wonderful way to display jewelry through the original
beveled glass lid! It is hinged and the lock, while tight, opens and closes
