ENGLISH wooden jewelry box with green tufted satin and velvet fitted interior, glass drop front
door which opens to two small drawers, lock with key, circa
1920, 5" high and 9" by 6". It is fitted inside to hold a small bracelet,
4-5 rings and other pieces. The finish is original and it has a feel of
satin it’s so well done. Behind the drop-down glass front are two working
drawers, and this box also has it’s own key as well as a metal medallion on
the top that has never been engraved. It’s in excellent condition, a joy to

Mablon lived from about 1822 to 1893. The dresser is 11" by 12-1/8" and

1880’s Mablon
Watrous, CT, salesman’s sample miniature wooden dresser
with two long bottom drawers, one wide drawer with hidden pull and two
smaller hanky drawers at the top, 11-3/8" by 12-3/8" and 6-7/8" deep.
Mablon lived from about 1822 to 1893. The maker is stenciled on the
back side.

William 5th sewing box circa 1820, made of
coromandel wood (also called calamander wood or Macassar ebony) from the
Islands of South America or Africa. The inside is fitted out with small
boxes and lids lined in a nice red fabric, as well as two pull-out
needle cases, one with vintage needles in it. This could be used as a
jewelry box too, which is great fun with all the cubby holes to put
small pieces into. Both the top and the key hole are mother-of-pearl

BIRKS ELLIS Ryrie, Toronto, sterling Deco ring box that is monogrammed
on the top "HEF" and marked with the Birks emblem inside the lid, along with
the words "Birks sterling" on the bottom. This lovely box holds one ring and
it is 1-5/8" by 1-1/2" by 1-1/8" deep. The interior is lined with soft gold
colored velvet, which has slight discoloration. It would be perfect for
presenting and storing a special treasured ring. Birks was at one time
Canada’s premier jewelry store, similar to Tiffany’s in the USA.

beautifully embossed figural and village designs. It is hallmarked for
Chester 1913, the entire box weighs 3.28 ounces and it has scrolls and flowers on the sides. The lovely
soft sage green velvet inside has slots for 8 rings, and the lid is gold gilt inside, 5-1/2" by 1-1/8" by 1-1/4".

antique sterling ring box with cherubs on either side of the center
cartouche, which is engraved with the letter "H". This beauty is lined with
dark chocolate brown velvet lining, has a pie crust edging around the lid, and holds 6
rings. In order to fit, the rings must be the Victorian type without a large
center element, or the box lid won’t close. It is hallmarked for Birmingham, England, sterling and the date 1897,
5" by 1-5/8" and 1" deep, and the total weight of this box is 3.92 ounces.
There are shallow dents on the bottom of the box only, and all the other
sides are in excellent condition.

Deakin & Francis antique sterling embossed ring box, hallmarked
for 1901, 5" by 1-1/2" by 1-1/8" deep. This has a pretty
pie-crust edge around the lid and it is lined with apple red velvet, holding 6
rings and the total weight of the box is 2.6 ounces. There are shallow dents on the
bottom, but the sides and top are dent-free and in lovely clean condition. The embossed designs
of scrolls, flowers, cross-hatching and leaves covers the lid and all four
sides. What a wonderful way to store and display your favorite rings.

illegible. It has a Deco style engine turned top and is lined in the
original dusty rose colored velvet, which is in very good condition. The
box is 3-1/2" by 2" tall including the feet and 1-3/4" without
them. It has shallow dimples in the lid and on the side, so is priced
accordingly. The lining color is perfect for highlighting jewelry that
is put in it.

edge. The scalloped shape and heavy construction of this wonderful box show the high quality
with which it was made.

latch clicks together firmly, and the condition is excellent except for
wear on the outer bottom, as can be seen in the
photo. This is an amazing box showing a masterful maker, and it is
marked on the bottom "Dupuis" and the number "64". I
think that perhaps "Dupuis" is the maker’s name.

flip-out stand on the back. Pietra dura is an Italian art, and has been made
for decades. This is a particularly hard to find piece, 6" tall, 4" wide at

rare and spectacular rhinestone oval footed jewelry or dresser box
with all colors and shapes of rhinestones set in gold tone wirework on the
lid of a gold tone embossed body. It’s lined with deep purple velvet and the lid is slightly domed so the stones
can really sparkle, 6-1/4" by 4-5/8" and 3" tall, really
special. Circa 1950, it is a real treasure. It is in excellent
condition, too.

colored lining is frayed, but the glass body is perfect. The box is breathtaking in every way, and a

JEWELRY BOX
with a hand painted portrait top on a gold washed or ormolu
style decorated box
with a mirror in the lid. The mirror is surrounded by little ribbon flowers
and the box is lined with a soft tufted dusty pink lining. The lady shown is
wearing a headpiece and blue satin dress with a bow, I think she could
be Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France. It’s painted on a porcelain disk, and
the entire box 4-1/2" by 3-3/4". The box is 1-1/2" deep and has lovely
applied textured designs all the way around the sides and four little feet. I have seen similar boxes marked "France" but this one has no indication of
the country in which it was made. It could also be called a dresser box. The last two photos show
how lovely a portrait collection can be!

a jewelry or dresser with a lid hand painted on porcelain inspired by Mme
Elizabeth Vigee DeBrun’s self portrait. This lovely oval ormolu or gold washed
metal box has pressed decorations
around the portrait and on the sides. It is lined in green velvet and while
I have seen other similar boxes marked "France", this one has no country of
origin. It is 3-3/4" by 3" across the top and almost 2" tall, not
counting the four little feet. This could also be called a dresser
box. The last two photos show how lovely a portrait collection can be!

FRENCH lovely jewelry box is
brown leather which is lined with a soft green silk, which shows some fraying, and
tufted with golden balls, 10" by 10" by 3-1/2" deep. Inside at the front
corners is some water damage that slightly discolors the silk, and on the
outside there’s some scuffing of the brown material, which I think is a thin
layer of leather. A wonderful way to display jewelry through the original
beveled glass lid! It is hinged and the lock, while tight, opens and closes
with a bit of pressure. Just recently, we saw
a box almost identical to this one and it was marked "France". View

jewelry box with golden velvet, brown leather trim and brass brads, all in
excellent condition. Inside is a green velvet lift-out tray fitted for
rings and other pieces of jewelry, as shown for reference in one of the
photos (the jewelry is not part of this sale). It is 8" by 6" by 3"
and in excellent condition.

Inside is a medium green velvet and there is a
lift-out tray fitted with a long ring slot to hold about 7 rings. It is
a really good condition with little evidence of wear.

. This particular etui was made for a family
member of Lieutenant General Sir Napier who led the expedition.
