| FEATURE: JEWELRY MAKERS MARKS
| Researching costume jewelry is one of the favorite things to do for many collectors, me included, and as we have found pictures and information on some of the many makers marks, we have added them to our reference site here: JEWEL CHAT Makers Marks
Thanks to that research, we have found many lesser-known makers who have become big favorites! Just a few of these are Pomerantz, Fred Block and Joseph Gourdji. There are many more as well, and to see a selection for sale you can click HERE.
We are always glad to share our reference information and HERE is a page with all kinds of links to interesting sites, including links to reference articles on our own site.
| WOOD JEWELRY
| WOOD JEWELRY. One way to survive hard times is with wit and a sense of humor, an appreciation for the absurd and whimsical. The 1930 to the 1950s, Depression years followed by war years, brought about some of the wittiest and most absurd jewelry of the 20th century, and some of the most fun to wear. Wood jewelry was either assembled, as the wood beads mixed with plastic, glass and other materials, or carved and painted. Fashioned by both jewelry companies and home crafters, the designs seem endless and the creativity amazing. Wood was also was used to make Czech purses and coin purses, great go-withs for the season. If you would enjoy adding some wood to your own collection, pieces for sale can been seen at Morning Glory Jewelry where we have a really fun selection of styles and designs. And we also share pieces we have had in the past in our gallery HERE. | SUMMER FLOWERS
| Just for fun, the colorful mid-century transparent plastic flower brooches and earrings add a pop and fun to any outfit for Summer. Their rhinestone centers and roughly 3 inch size makes them hard to ignore. Wear them singly or in pairs. We just received a small group, so do take a look before they are gone HERE!
If you would enjoy seeing more of the plastic jewelry from "back in the day", circa 1930-50s, click at Morning Glory Collects, HERE.
