EISENBERG ORIGINAL Mexico sterling silver bracelet with green calcite cabochons, 1940s

Designer: Eisenberg
Price: $348.00
Description EISENBERG ORIGINAL Mexico sterling silver bracelet with green calcite cabochons, 7" by 1-1/2".  Marked on the back "Hecho en Mexico, Eisenberg Original, silver 925".  It was made in the 1940s and it is 7" by 1-1/2" weighing 3.35 ounces.  Not only does it have a marvelous design, it also has a wonderful smooth and substantial feel when you wear it.

During WWII, metal rationing severely limited the production of traditional costume jewelry in the United States.  To adapt, Eisenberg sent some of their production to Mexican artisans.  These silversmiths used heavy .925 sterling silver and local green calcite or dyed onyx—materials sometimes misnamed  "Mexican jade".
