VICTORIAN tortoise shell visiting card case dated 1879

VICTORIAN tortoise shell visiting or calling card case with mother-of-pearl inlay, etched designs, sterling cartouche engraved and dated, "M. E. Smith, 10th Feb'y, 1879" and a calling card inside "Dr. W.C.F. Smith, North Parade, Halifax". There is a very small and stable old crack in one panel of the mother-of-pearl but it does not detract from the detailed and intricate work on this lovely old case which is otherwise in excellent condition. Having the calling card belonging to the owner's husband as an added piece of ephemera is a nice historical addition.
