NEW "BAKELITE" CARVED
BANGLES
Contemporary pieces made and hand carved in the
orient of a formula similar to bakelite, these chunky bangles are fun to mix with older bakelite.
Do be aware though that these are NEW and should not command the same
prices as vintage pieces, nor should they be represented as old. I first
saw them circa 2003. They are well carved and a bit heavier and larger in
scale than most vintage bakelite and often measure 2-/8" instead of
2-1/2".

While this is a fun piece to wear, it should not be priced as old bakelite. Note
the shavings still present where the drilling was done. |
Also, the molding line along the side of the finger can be easily seen. |
