VICTORIAN Elf and flowers motif rocker blotter
done in rolled tin work with aqua glass accents, circa 1900, 5" by 2-3/4" and
1-5/8" tall. This reminds me of turn-of-the-century fairy tale book
illustrations with both the charm and the gothic flavor that they had. View

VICTORIAN rocker blotter,
enameled in bronze, an Egyptian Sphinx motif
with classical lady head, 5-1/2" by 2-1/2" and 3" tall.
The finish reminds me of Tiffany desk accessories and it has a nice quality
weight as well.

VICTORIAN slate
and bronzed metal clock mantle with engraved brass, "Awarded to S. H.
Fremantle for winning the Oxford Mile race at Oxford Univ., 1888". From
the Today University Magazine article by Richard Holt,
2005: "The Amateur Athletic Association" was founded... at the Randolph
Hotel, Oxford, 24 April 1880. For over a century, the AAA held sway
over English athletics and and provided a model for amateur sporting
organizations elsewhere in Britain and around the world, including the
Olympic Movement." This clock was awarded at Oxford only 8 years after
this historic meeting. The base is 8" by 5-5/8" and it is 10" high.
