VICTORIAN lady, who's stylish hat and a fan with an oriental motif accessorize this costume.   VICTORIAN lady wearing a fashionable outfit including fringed cape.   View    VICTORIAN lady with a parasol that matches her outfit.

VICTORIAN cape, all hand made and with a tag, "Au Bon Marche, Maison A. Boucicault, Paris". Black satin ties close the cape at the front of a ruffled 4" multi-layered stand-up collar.  View    Appliqued fabric flowers and bead work decorate this satin lined black crepe 42" circular cape. It has a 16" neck and is approximately elbow length. It is deeply edged with green velvet.   This VICTORIAN lady wears a lovely ruffled, beaded and appliqued CAPE.

Au Bon Marché
is the oldest (1852) and most stylish department store in Paris. For 150 years, well-to-do Parisians have been able to spend pleasant afternoons selecting various luxury items and elegant designer fashions, Oriental carpets and unusual antiques.
Triple border of  RUFFLES at bottom over green velvet border. I would estimate this to be a size 8-10, but because it is made as an almost full circle, it would fit a smaller or slightly larger size as well.  Tag marked, "Au Bon Marche, Maison A. Boucicault, Paris". There is a 2-1/2" tear on the inside right at the neckline seam, but no other damage that I can see.

VICTORIAN black lace parasol with hand carved wooden handle and crochet covered decorative tassels.   View   The black floral LACE is delicate and in excellent condition.  TASSELS are crochet-covered, and the wooden handle is all hand carved with a foliate design.  View   View

VICTORIAN black bonnet with velvet bows and ties and beadwork top.  View   View   View   View   View   #V22307 REMARKABLE large photo of a group of fancy dressed ladies. They are wearing their most elaborate bonnets, hats and dresses, as well as high-laced boots, fans, purses and baskets. Their jewelry includes rings worn over a glove, fobs, hair brooches, bracelets, spectacle chains, earrings, slide chains, bracelets and lockets. Note the lady 3rd from the left who carries a beaded bag with a palm tree motif and the lady 4th from the left dresses in a much shorter dress than the others and wearing masculine clothing.  VICTORIAN black fabric bonnet with bugle beads, netting, flowers, note "Mama's bonnet made by L.P.M." , 13" around band, 3-1/2" brim. A vintage photo shows how this hat would have been worn.   View   View   View   View   View   #V28602

PIANO scarf in cream silk with lovely coral, peach and green embroidered flowers and leaves with a 4" long fringe on all four sides. Total size without fringe is 46" by 49", and there is one tiny 1/8" slit, visible only when held up to the light. Just for interest sake, HERE is a McClelland Barclay illustration showing a 20's lady wearing a scarf like this as a wrap dress.   View   View   View  #a17460 McClelland Barclay, as well as designing wonderful jewelry, was an illustrator and did advertising art work such as this lovely lady. Note that she wears an embroidered silk piano scarf wrapped around her body as a dress     BLACK scarf in silk with lovely embroidered flowers and amazing 16" long fringe.
