JEWELRY ADVERTISING

Miscellaneous Jewelry Ads

Page 1   Page 2

One of the most exciting reference sources for attributing and dating vintage jewelry is the advertising in magazines from years past. These wonderful old ads illustrate how jewelry was worn, when it was made, and how it coordinated with the styles of the time.

Most of these ads were shared courtesy of Julie Scarlett, who sells vintage ads under the seller name papercharm on ebay. An added thanks to Pat Seal, who was the source of the dates for many of them.

"Reja Gardenesque series:  it is possible that the gold-tone/moonstone ones on the bottom row aren't from the Gardenesque series, but the vases are the same perforated metal.  Most of these come in both gold wash and rhodium and the vases on the top row seem to come in flavors of black as well as the cream."
