REGENCY JEWELRY

circa 1950-70

The jewelry we call just "Regency" was made by the
Regency Novelty Company in New York City from
about
1950-1970. It is also seen marked "Regency Jewels" with a
copyright mark. Using brilliant rhinestones, glass petals and drops, it is found set in gold and silver
tone metal as well as a matte gun metal color. I have always felt this
wonderful maker is under-rated as far as price is concerned.
Many of their pieces remind me of Schreiner and although they don’t
use the variety of colors in one piece that Schreiner does,
the quality of the brilliant rhinestones is every bit as nice.

necklace is 18" long and has a pendant oval cabochon; the brooch is 2-1/4"
by 2" and has a center cabochon, and the clip back earrings are 1-5/8" long
and still on the original Regency Jewels card.

REGENCY necklace with amazing blue teardrop shaped rhinestones, some of which
are pastel cabochons with "dimples" inside them and some are cabochons with
a colorful aurora borealis finish. The length of the necklace is 15-5/8" long and the
largest stones are 5/8". The matching bracelet is 7" by 7/8" signed on the
back and with it’s safety chain, and the brooch is signed on the back, 2". Accented with baby blue rhinestones, it’s all set
in matte gray finished metal settings, circa 1950-60. This entire set
is in excellent condition.

shattered from age when I took the earrings off of it.

REGENCY brooch and earrings with the brown blue saphiret teardrop
shaped cabochons, teardrop shaped blue and tan rhinestones and a round
blue center on the brooch, all in a gold tome metal setting. The brooch,
which is signed "Regency" on the back, is almost 2" across and the clip
back earrings are 1-1/8".

Saphiret glass was made first in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia in the mid-19th
century by mixing melted gold into sapphire-colored glass. The result is
that wonderful milk-chocolate with blue tints that you see here,
changing with the light.
