MIRIAM HASKELL by Frank Hess aqua glass beads lariat necklace, 1940Circa 1940, it was designed by Frank Hess, the head designer. In the early days of Haskell jewelry, Miriam Haskell put no identifying marks on her jewelry. As a mater of fact, it was not marked at all until about 1947. Today the early unsigned pieces are recognized from old advertisements and by their distinctive detailing, hand work and design. The ad which shows a similar lariat is HERE (not included in this sale but sold separately). To read more about Haskell, see these features: Haskell Hess Unsigned Jewelry, Miriam Haskell Jewelry, our article in Jewel Chat and the feature on Haskell Art Work & Ads. Please note that all of our Haskell is guaranteed genuine and it hasn't been re-worked or altered from when it was originally made.
